White Bread by Marybelle Perkins

1 1/3 cups powdered milk

6 Tablespoons sugar

2 Tablespoons salt

4 Tablespoons shortening

5 cups really hot water (real hot)

6 cups flour

1 ½ Tablespoons dry yeast dissolved in

1 cup luke warm water

9-11 cups additional flour

Mix powdered milk, sugar, salt shortening, and hot water.  Add 6 cups flour.  Then add the yeast mixture. Add additional flour to total 15-17 cups.

Don’t get too firm.  Leave a little sticky.  Knead.

Let rise till double (about 1 ½ hours).

Punch down and let rise again.

Divide and let sit for 10 minutes. Shape into loaves. Put in greased pans. Cover. Let sit 1 hour.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, then at 300 for 35 minutes. Turn off oven and leave in for 5 minutes.
